Inspired by Enya's song, "Storms in Africa," and dedicated to my dear friend Rew who loves marozi's. A marozi is a real animal, by the way, and is a cross between a lion and a leopard. Granted, these generally are not the colors of a marozi. Anyways, I've been working on this for 3-4 weeks now between commissions while waiting on customers to reply and on my "commission day off," which is Sunday, and which is why it took me so long to do. That mane...those spots... gah. Took me forever to paint! Also, he's clawing into a hoof print in the ground, but that did not show up too well. Note: I did use wolfy-nail's piece "Reactiv(colored)" for help with referencing the pose and foreshortening. However, I altered the pose a bit to my liking.

I love Enya! And this picture flows with the song perfectly! I can easily see the inspriration for this piece flooding out of that song. I love the rainbows. In Scotland there's a lot of rainbows, more than there is here anyways...
Hey, I really love Watermark also, lovely song. :)

Very cool. Given that lions tend to have faint spots when young, this is not a surprising cross at all, but it is a very nice-looking one.
